Bowdoin station will be closed from 7 PM on Friday, March 21, through end of service on Monday, March 24. Riders can use Government Center, a four minute walk from Bowdoin. There will be longer wait times between trains throughout this work.
Crowding:
Riders should expect crowding at stations during peak travel times on Monday, March 24. If possible, riders are encouraged to travel outside of peak travel times while this work takes place as there will be longer wait times for trains.
Train Frequency:
Riders should expect increased wait times for Blue Line trains during this work. Expect trains every 8 to 10 minutes on weekdays. Expect trains every 9 to 13 minutes during the weekend.
Airport Bus Alternatives:
Riders travelling between Downtown Boston and Airport Station can use the SL1 or SL3 Bus. The SL1 runs every 15 minutes or better between South Station and Logan Airport Terminals. The SL3 Bus runs every 15 minutes or better between South Station and Airport Station.

Shuttle buses will replace service between JFK/UMass and Braintree, the weekends of Mar 22 - 23, and 29 - 30, for signal upgrades. Commuter Rail service between Braintree and South Station will be fare-free during this work.
Riders are strongly encouraged to use the Middleborough, Kington, and Greenbush Commuter Rail lines for fare-free service between Braintree, Quincy Center, JFK/UMass, and South Station. Commuter Rail schedules are available on MBTA.com. Regular Commuter Rail fares will be collected for travel beyond Braintree.
