The MBTA Mobility Center is Ready to Help
Updated on October 12, 2022
On July 1, 2022, the MBTA celebrated a milestone opening of the Mobility Center, located in Boston at 1000 Massachusetts Ave.
The center offers guidance for anyone looking to explore accessible transit options and other community transport resources.
Building a Better T
As part of our $9.6 billion, 5-year capital investment plan, we're renovating stations, modernizing fare collection systems, upgrading services for our buses, subways, and ferries, and improving the accessibility of the entire system.
Making Accessibility More Accessible
As the MBTA continues efforts to build a fully accessible system, our stations and stops are changing. The Mobility Center is here for all riders as they navigate new and old systems along the T.
Created from a collaboration between MBTA’s Office of Transportation Access, The RIDE, and the Department of System-Wide Accessibility (SWA), the Mobility Center is open Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM – 5 PM and ready to assist riders. The Center provides a number of services such as:
- Group or one-on-one travel training
- Planning accessible trips on a fixed route or paratransit service
- Scheduling a RIDE eligibility appointment
- Helping you use your smart phone or computer to check on elevator outages and request a rideshare through Lyft or Uber
- Connecting you to additional community transportation options
