Robert Street Bridge Rehabilitation

The Needham Line runs over the Robert Street Bridge near Roslindale Village Station

We’re replacing the bridge that carries the Needham Line over Robert Street near Roslindale Village Station

The steel bridge, which was built in 1898 and last rehabilitated in 1985, is nearing the end of its useful life and will be completely replaced to meet the MBTA’s reliability and modernization needs.

Contract awarded: Anticipated winter 2019/2020
Projected completion: Early 2021
Budget: $10 million 
Status: Design
