Perq Product Pricing

Perq is the MBTA sales channel for employers who want to buy passes for their employees. If the employer wishes to pass on a portion of the cost of passes to their employee, the employee can be charged using pretax payroll deductions, allowing them to save on the cost of buying passes at vending machines.

Physical passes will be sent directly to the employer for distribution. Commuter Rail 10-ride passes and digital passes will be loaded onto the rider’s mTicket app.

Reduced Fares through Perq

Commuter Rail Monthly Passes

There are two types of commuter rail monthly passes available through Perq:

  • Physical cards that are sent to your employer each month and are valid on bus and subway.
  • Digital passes that are automatically added to your mTicket account each month. Digital passes cost $10 less but are not valid on bus and subway.

Commuter Rail 10-Ride Fares

These passes are digital products that are added to your mTicket account and are only valid for travel on the Commuter Rail.

Commuter Rail Interzone Fares

Commuter Rail monthly interzone passes can be delivered as physical cards or digitally via your mTicket account. Physical passes are also valid on bus, while digital passes are only valid on Commuter Rail.

If your trip begins and ends anywhere other than Zone 1A, your fare will be based on the number of zones you pass through, including your origin and destination.

For example, a trip from Concord (Zone 5) to Fitchburg (Zone 8) is an Interzone 4 fare. You will also pay an Interzone 4 fare for a 1-way trip from Fitchburg to Concord.
