Take the T to the 2022 U.S. Open Championship
The 122nd U.S. Open Championship, hosted by the United States Golf Association (USGA), will take place June 13 – 19, 2022.
The world’s greatest players will compete for the coveted U.S. Open Trophy—awarded to the champion annually since 1895—on the grand stage of The Country Club in Brookline. Practice Rounds will take place Monday – Wednesday, June 13 – 15, and Championship Rounds will take place Thursday – Sunday, June 16 – 19.
Planning Your Trip
The MBTA is the easiest and most convenient way to get to the U.S. Open Championship. Riders can take the subway, bus, or Commuter Rail.
Complimentary shuttles will be provided between The Country Club and the stations listed below. Select a station from this list to plan your trip, or visit our trip planner to compare routes.
Both the Orange Line subway and Needham Line Commuter Rail route stop at Forest Hills.
During the U.S. Open, the Commuter Rail's Providence/Stoughton Line will also add stops at Forest Hills.
At Forest Hills, follow U.S. Open signs to the upper bus terminal where complimentary U.S. Open shuttle service will be provided to and from the championship.

Thursday, June 16 – Friday, June 17:
Inbound
- Eight additional trains will run from Stoughton to Forest Hills
- Five additional trains will run from Providence to Forest Hills
Outbound
- Seven additional trains will run from Forest Hills to Stoughton
- Five additional trains will run from Forest Hills to Providence
Saturday, June 18 – Sunday, June 19:
There is no Stoughton Line service on weekends, but the Providence Line will run additional trains.
Inbound
- Five additional trains will run from Providence to Forest Hills
Outbound
- Five additional trains will run from Forest Hills to Providence
At Reservoir, follows signs to the Beacon Street shuttle depot for complimentary shuttles to and from the U.S. Open Championship.
At Cleveland Circle, follow signs to the Beacon Street shuttle depot for complimentary shuttles to and from the U.S. Open Championship.
At Boston College, follow signs to Boston College’s Alumni Stadium shuttle depot for complimentary shuttles to and from the U.S. Open Championship.
Paying Your Fare
We recommend purchasing a 1- or 7-day pass ahead of the U.S. Open for unlimited bus and subway service during the championship. Passes are available at fare vending machines at all subway stations before and during the event.
We will run additional Commuter Rail trains to Forest Hills during the championship week. We recommend purchasing your one-way or round trip tickets ahead of time using the mTicket app, or from a fare vending machine.
Parking
There is no general U.S. Open parking at The Country Club. Street parking will be restricted, with rules enforced by the Town of Brookline.
Tickets to the U.S. Open include the cost of parking at 100 MBTA stations with parking facilities. We encourage fans to park at one of these facilities (list available below) and then take the subway, bus, or Commuter Rail to the event.
Commuter Rail riders may wish to park at the Route 128 Station Parking Garage, which offers service to Forest Hills station.
- There is no fan parking available at Forest Hills, Reservoir, Cleveland Circle, or Boston College stations.
- Parking rules, policies, and payment enforcement will remain in effect for non-U.S. Open attendees and daily MBTA commuters.

Safety and Security
To ensure your safety during the U.S. Open Championship, additional MBTA staff and Transit Police will be available at nearby MBTA stations. Please follow these guidelines to ensure everyone’s safety and comfort.

Championship attendees will go through security screening prior to entering the championship grounds and will not be allowed to bring any prohibited items.
To expedite admission into the championship it is recommended that all prohibited items are safely stowed prior to taking the T to the U.S. Open Championship grounds.
- No weapons (regardless of permit, including but not limited to firearms or knives)
- No explosives and/or fireworks of any kind
- No tablets and/or computers (mobile devices smaller than 7" are permitted, subject to mobile device policy)
- No drones
- No selfie sticks
- No cameras (point and shoot, film, or DSLR) or video cameras (other than Monday through Wednesday for personal use only)
- No noise-producing devices (including portable speakers)
- No backpacks, briefcases, purses, and/or bags larger than 6" W x 6" H x 6" D in their natural state
- Note: Transparent/clear plastic hand and shoulder bags no larger than 12" W x 12" H x 6" D are permitted.
- No signs, posters, banners, and/or other sports paraphernalia or memorabilia
- No food and/or beverages, except for medical or infant needs
- Water bottles (32-ounce size or less, no glass) are permitted, provided they are empty upon arrival
- No glass, coolers, aerosol cans, and/or spray bottles, except for medical or infant needs
- Note: Personal-care items (3-ounce size or less) are permitted.
- No pets (other than service animals as defined by the ADA assisting disabled individuals)
- No lawn chairs and/or oversized chairs
- No ladders and/or step stools or other similar items
- No bicycles allowed inside admission areas or on the championship grounds
- No other items or actions deemed unlawful, dangerous, or disruptive by the USGA and/or Championship Security Personnel, at their sole discretion
Note: The USGA reserves the right to amend the list of prohibited items at any time to provide a safe and secure championship.

Etiquette
- Alcohol consumption is not allowed on trains, buses, or at any stations.
- If you are wearing a backpack, remove it and hold it at your side or set it between your feet.
- Let passengers off the train before you board.
- Leave large items like bags, coolers, and strollers at home.
Accessibility
The USGA is committed to providing a positive and user-friendly experience for all fans with disabilities. Accessible parking spaces for all vehicles with appropriate HD/DP license plates or placards will be reserved at all parking locations. Fans requiring lift-equipped transportation should contact the USGA Admissions Department at tickets@usga.org ahead of the championship to receive specific parking instructions.
The USGA will provide complimentary lift-equipped shuttles to and from all remote championship parking lots and the championship-designated MBTA train stations mentioned above. Furthermore, the Disability Services Committee will be on-site to assist fans with disabilities with multiperson golf cart transportation to and from designated stops, specific ADA friendly grandstand locations, and accessible facilities throughout the golf course.
