Due to MassDOT's Tobin Bridge/Chelsea Curves Rehabilitation Project, the Route 1 northbound lane closure will be extended through Chelsea and a southbound lane on the Tobin Bridge will be closed effective May 13. We expect this work will cause significant delays to buses on these roads, including Routes 111, 426, and 428.
For the Routes 426 & 428, alternate service options include:
Commuter Rail:For service to downtown Boston and connections to the Green and Orange Lines. Lynn Station (Zone 2 fare) is a 20-minute trip to North Station and daily parking is available for $2.
Bus Routes:Inner Express Bus Routes 434 or 450, or local bus Routes 455 connect to downtown Boston and the Orange & Green Lines. Monthly Inner Express Bus passes are valid on these routes and local bus routes/subway.
Subway:For the Orange Line, take the Route 430 bus from Saugus to Malden Center. For the Blue Line, take local bus Routes 110, 116, 117, 411, 424, 429, 441, 442, 455 or Inner Express Route 426W to Wonderland Station. Monthly Inner Express Bus pass valid for travel on subway and local bus.
