Parker Street Bridge Construction Resumes April 25
Updated on April 28, 2022
We’re continuing work on the bridge that carries the Haverhill Line over Parker Street in Lawrence near Lawrence station.
We've installed the Parker Street Bridge superstructure, and remaining work will be complete by summer 2022. This project brings the bridge to a state of good repair, improving the Haverhill Line's safety, resiliency, and reliability.
Building a Better T
As part of our $9.6 billion, 5-year capital investment plan, we're renovating stations, modernizing fare collection systems, upgrading services for our buses, subways, and ferries, and improving the accessibility of the entire system.
What to Expect During This Work
Crews will continue work on the new bridge beginning Monday, April 25. This work will take place Monday through Friday from 7 AM to 3 PM daily for six to eight weeks. We will detour traffic during this project when necessary to complete certain tasks and maintain safe conditions.
This work will not impact Haverhill Line Commuter Rail service.
Neighborhood impacts
We will need to detour Parker Street traffic at various times during this work. We’ll post signs along the detour route before construction begins, and will notify drivers of active detours. Drivers may wish to avoid the area or seek alternate routes to avoid delays.

We'll send email updates before activities that we expect to have significant noise or traffic impacts. You may wish to sign up for important project updates. We will also post additional information and project updates on this website.
