Quincy Center Construction Activities

Work Hours

The MBTA's contractor, LM Heavy Civil Construction, and a sub-contractor, Atlantic Dismantling, are working at Quincy Center station during these shifts:

Construction Activities

  • Accessible walkway from Burgin Parkway to the station is now complete and open for public use.
  • Heavy demolition activities have ceased; waterproofing of garage ongoing.
  • Hancock Street busway has been restored. Public parking along the sidewalks and in the the center lot has been restored as well.
  • Elevator is complete and open.

During construction, bus shuttles continue to run.

As part of our $9.6 billion, 5-year capital investment plan, we're renovating stations, modernizing fare collection systems, upgrading services for our buses, subways, and ferries, and improving the accessibility of the entire system.
