Mansfield Station Accessibility Improvements
Heavily used Mansfield station on the Providence/Stoughton Line had significant barriers to accessibility. The Mansfield Station Accessibility Improvements project corrected these problems, improving accessibility, safety, and customer service at the station.

Building a Better T
As part of our $9.6 billion, 5-year capital investment plan, we're renovating stations, modernizing fare collection systems, upgrading services for our buses, subways, and ferries, and improving the accessibility of the entire system.
Project Features
To bring Mansfield Station up to our accessibility standards, we completed the following repairs and enhancements:
- Constructed new accessible paths connecting inbound and outbound platforms, including ramps and walkways with canopies and railings
- Constructed new mini-high platforms with canopies and railings
- Installed tactile warning edges on low-level and mini-high platforms
- Installed new lighting, signage, wayfinding, and other station amenities
- Reconstructed accessible parking spaces
The outbound mini-high platform opened April 27, 2020; the inbound mini-high platform opened on May 4, 2020. Repairs and resurfacing of the remaining portions of the platforms concluded on August 20, 2020.
