Quincy Bus Maintenance Facility Construction Update | Spring 2024

As part of our Bus Facility Modernization project, we’re constructing a new Quincy Bus Maintenance Facility to accommodate a larger, more modern fleet of battery-electric buses (BEBs). This new facility will support our efforts to lessen our environmental impact and allow for potential service expansion.
Construction Progress Update
- Crews are making progress building foundations, walls, and utility installations (see photos below)
- We have begun preparations for curb and sidewalk construction on Columbia Street
- We are continuing to prepare for the Thomas Burgin Parkway Traffic signal installation

As part of our $9.6 billion, 5-year capital investment plan, we're renovating stations, modernizing fare collection systems, upgrading services for our buses, subways, and ferries, and improving the accessibility of the entire system.
