Changes to Bus Route 90
The City of Somerville has designed changes on Tufts St that will require changes to the 90 bus route in East Somerville.
The new 90 route will use Washington St instead of Broadway, Cross St, and Tufts St starting in either 2025 or 2026 when construction begins.

Building a Better T
As part of our $9.6 billion, 5-year capital investment plan, we're renovating stations, modernizing fare collection systems, upgrading services for our buses, subways, and ferries, and improving the accessibility of the entire system.
Changes to the Route
The new 90 bus route will:
- Not serve Broadway, Cross St, and Tufts St. Broadway stops will still be served by routes 89 and 101.
- Add service on Washington St between Sullivan Square and East Somerville stations.
Riders near Cross St and Tufts St can use the new Washington St stops. Riders near Broadway can use the 89 or 101 and connect to the 90 at Sullivan Square.
Rider Benefits
Rerouting the 90 onto Washington St will provide:
- More direct and reliable bus service
- Access to newly constructed floating bus stops
- More dedicated waiting space for bus riders
- Improved access to the East Somerville Green Line station
