MBTA Successfully Completes Critical Track Work on Red Line Braintree Branch, Removes 37 Speed Restrictions

Crews accomplished important work to lift 37 speed restrictions across 18 miles of track, bringing the track infrastructure into a state of good repair in this area, resulting in a safer, more reliable trip for riders and improving round-trip Braintree Branch travel times by as much as 24 minutes.

Red Line Service Suspension Expanded to Include Ashmont Branch This Saturday Only, September 28

This means both Ashmont and Braintree Branches of the Red Line will be suspended and replaced with shuttle buses on Saturday. Train service on the Ashmont Branch will resume on Sunday.

MBTA Announces Partial Opening of Winchester Center Station

The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) announced today that Winchester Center station on the Lowell Commuter Rail Line will partially reopen on Monday, September 30. The south end of the station will be fully accessible and will serve passengers riding both inbound and outbound.
