Callahan Tunnel Rehabilitation Project

The Callahan Tunnel will be closed beginning December 27, 2013, through March 2014 for a full rehabilitation of its deck. This work includes the grinding of the tunnel’s deck to its steel supports and the pouring of a new deck. The interconnected curb, including air exchange vents, will also be replaced.

Travelers desiring service to Logan International Airport during the tunnel’s closure are strongly encouraged to take the Logan Express or the MBTA. To plan all other trips using the MBTA, use our Rider Tools.
