Government Center, South Station, Burns Bridge, Zakim Bridge to Be Lit Green on October 27 in Remembrance of Devin Suau
Posted on October 26, 2017
BOSTON — Government Center Station, South Station, the Burns Bridge in Worcester, and the Zakim Bridge in Boston will be lit green on Friday, October 27, in remembrance of six-year-old Devin Suau. Devin lost his battle with a rare pediatric brain cancer called Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG) and passed away on October 20, 2017. Friday would have been his seventh birthday.
Devin inspired the #WhyNotDevin movement, with Governor Charlie Baker designating May 17 as DIPG Awareness Day. With DC Comics' the Green Lantern as Devin's favorite superhero, the MBTA and MassDOT hope to continue to spread awareness for DIPG and extend their support and condolences to the Suau family by lighting these stations and bridges in green.
