Fall Commuter Rail Schedule Adjustments
Posted on November 4, 2016
BOSTON - The MBTA is reminding customers that Fall commuter rail schedule adjustments will take effect on Monday, November 21, in order to provide customers with more accurate arrival and departure time and service information. The November 21 schedules:
- Have full commuter rail service for the new Wachusett Station on the Fitchburg Line, which opened for customer use on September 30.
- Have no adjustments to the Greenbush, Kingston/Plymouth, Middleboro/Lakeville or Worcester Line schedules. These schedules are being re-printed with Severe Weather train designations. For the Worcester Line, the re-print also includes the adjustments made in July to the final arrival time of certain trains (Inbound trains 588, 522 and 526. Outbound trains 517, 519, 521, 593, 523 and 525).
- Have weekend schedule changes on the Fairmount, Fitchburg and Haverhill Lines only.
A fully revamped commuter rail schedule took effect on May 23. No major changes had been made to the T's commuter rail schedules in decades, despite ridership changes and infrastructure improvements. The Fall 2016 schedule changes build on the changes of May 23, further improving the accuracy and reliability of the schedules.
