Public Meeting | Arborway Bus Maintenance Facility (Virtual)

Meeting Info

Date: December 9, 2021 at 6 PM - 7:30 PM

Location: Virtual • Zoom • Boston, MA

Attendees: General Public

Event Description

At this meeting, MBTA project staff provided an introductory overview of the new bus maintenance facility project and facilitated a Q&A period to address community concerns. The MBTA is designing the facility at 500 Arborway in Jamaica Plain to support a 100% battery electric bus (BEB) fleet. BEBs will reduce emissions and improve air quality around the facility and along routes served. The new facility will expand the size of the fleet to serve additional routes in Roxbury, Dorchester, and Mattapan, providing capacity for 60-foot buses that carry greater numbers of riders on busy routes.

The new facility will be located next to the existing facility, at the corner of Washington Street and Arborway in Boston, next to Forest Hills station where many routes start.
