Parade Schedule and Route

Duck boats will roll out from TD Garden at 11 AM on Friday, June 21, pass City Hall, and head down Boylston and Tremont streets to Copley Square.

Start by scoping out your viewing location along the route, and then use our trip planner to find out how to get there.

If you plan to arrive in Boston after 9 AM, you can avoid the morning rush hour and have time to find an optimal spot to watch the parade.

Planning Your Trip

There are many subway stops along the parade route and within walking distance.

We'll be running rush-hour service on the subway all day. Commuter Rail schedules will adjust and some trains will have extra cars to accommodate fans.

Ferries will operate on regular weekday schedules. Please note that ferries operate on a first come, first serve basis, and vessel capacity is limited.

Paying for Your Trip

Please buy round trip tickets in advance. We encourage paying with a credit or debit card to reduce lines at fare vending machines.

Commuter Rail

Ferry

We encourage riders to buy ferry tickets in the mTicket app to speed up the boarding process and to avoid long lines at the Hingham ferry terminal.

Parking

Driving to the parade isn't recommended, but you can park at an MBTA station and take the subway or Commuter Rail into the city. Daily parking rates are $2 – $15. PayByPhone is a cashless, easy, secure, and preferred way to pay for parking.

Rider Rules and Etiquette

Consider the following guidelines to ensure that everyone has a safe and comfortable trip.

• If you are wearing a backpack, remove it, and hold it at your side or set it between your feet.
• Let passengers off the train before you board.
• Using mobile or music devices without headphones in MBTA stations and vehicles is prohibited.
• Bikes (including folding bikes) are not allowed on subway or Commuter Rail at any time the day of the parade.
• Food and drink must remain in closed containers. Please be considerate and avoid eating or drinking on MBTA vehicles and in stations.
  • Alcohol consumption is not allowed on trains or at any stations.
• Do not dispose of trash on the tracks; it can cause fires and service delays.
• Littering in MBTA vehicles and stations can result in fines or tickets.
  • Be sure to remove all trash before leaving MBTA property.

Riders cannot bring the following items into MBTA vehicles and stations:

• Gasoline
• Gunpowder
• Fireworks
• Propane tanks
• Pure alcohol
• Uncovered oil or grease containers
• Weapons or firearms

Safety

Additional Transit Police and MBTA staff will be at subway and Commuter Rail stations throughout the day.
