Framingham/Worcester Line

Service Change Ongoing

Effective until further notice, the entrances to Natick Center station are relocated to Washington Street for access to the inbound and outbound platforms. MBTA.com/natickcenter

North Avenue entrance and Walnut Street entrance will remain closed until further notice.
This access change will allow for work on the new platforms as part of Natick Center Station Accessibility Improvements Project.

Station Closure Upcoming

On the weekend of October 19-20, Malden Center Commuter Rail station will be closed to allow for platform resurfacing work. Passengers may board the Orange Line for service to North Station or Oak Grove.
Schedule Change Upcoming

On Monday, September 30th, regular inbound weekday service will resume on the Haverhill Line as the rail replacement work is close to completion. Check the new Haverhill Line schedule online or pick it up at North Station. bit.ly/3XEumLw

In total, 9 miles of rails (4,5 miles on each track) were replaced and welded in the Wakefield area.

Station Closure Ongoing

Commuter Rail train service is suspended at Haverhill station through Summer 2025 to allow for work on the South Elm Street Bridge. An accessible van operates between Haverhill and Bradford.

Built in 1906, the South Elm Bridge is beyond its useful life and ready to be replaced. Using accelerated bridge construction techniques to reduce customer and traffic impacts, the MBTA will replace the nearly-120-year-old bridge with a modern single-span structure with a useful life of 75 years. The new structure will include a ballasted steel deck, which means a smoother ride for passengers. The MBTA will also perform roadway, sidewalk, and drainage improvements along South Elm Street.

To exit, upon exiting the faregates, turn left and proceed to Oak Grove Elevator 745 to access the busway and parking lot. To board, proceed to the station entrance located near the busway and use Oak Grove Elevator 745 to access the lobby. Alternatively, customers may utilize Oak Grove Elevator 744 (Lobby to Washington St.) located at the entrance on Washington St.

Commuter Rail service returns to Winchester Center on September 30th. Passengers exiting trains at Winchester Center must ride in the 2 coaches closest to the locomotive. The new Lowell Line schedule is now available online and at North Station. bit.ly/3ZOMmFJ

Schedule Change Upcoming

Effective Saturday, Oct 5 through Sunday, Oct 27, a new Newburyport/Rockport Schedule will offer additional train services on weekends to accommodate the crowds for the Haunted Happening events in Salem. Check the new schedule online or at North Station. bit.ly/3XRa1Us

Bikes will not be allowed on all Newburyport/Rockport Line trains on weekends in October as well as all day on Thursday, October 31st.

Station Issue Ongoing

The accessible mini high-level platforms at Beverly Depot will be closed for replacement through Summer 2024. Please board trains from the temporary boarding areas.

To cross the tracks, please use the pedestrian crossing in front of the Beverly Depot restaurant. Passengers may also consider travel to/from Salem station. MBTA Bus #451 provides accessible service to Salem from Cabot Street in Beverly.

Providence/Stoughton Line

Service Change Ongoing

Effective Monday, Sept 9th & for approximately 7 weeks, the high-level platform on the outbound side of Attleboro station is close for renovation. Please board trains at the north end of the platform. A portable lift will be available on the platform.

The staircase close to the ramp for access to the inbound platform will be closed at the same time.
This temporary travel path will allow for work on the platform as part of the Attleboro Renovation Project.
Plan for extra travel time. Thank you for your understanding.
