Green Line B Branch Station Consolidation
We consolidated four B Branch stops into two fully accessible, brand-new stations—Babcock Street station and Amory Street station.

Building a Better T
As part of our $9.6 billion, 5-year capital investment plan, we're renovating stations, modernizing fare collection systems, upgrading services for our buses, subways, and ferries, and improving the accessibility of the entire system.
As part of the Green Line Transformation (GLT), this project meets the following goals:
- Addressing demand: Faster trips down Commonwealth Ave
- Accessibility: Raised platforms compatible with low-floor vehicles
- Customer experience: All-new benches, shelters, and safety features at each station

Project Features
- The consolidation of St. Paul St and BU West stations into Amory Street station
- The consolidation of Babcock St and Pleasant St stations into Babcock Street station
- Longer, 225-foot platforms to accommodate the future fleet
- Accessible boarding at both stations
- Two accessible exits at both stations
- Security and reliability upgrades to trains and stations

Changes in travel patterns on Commonwealth Ave, as planned by the Commonwealth Ave Phase 2A Project. This typical cross section is looking east: Sidewalk (25 feet on the outbound side, 14-15 feet on the inbound side), 6.5-foot cycle track, 3-foot buffer, 8 feet of parking, two 10.5-foot travel lanes (cars and buses), 1-foot shoulder, 12.75-14 feet of MBTA reservation, Green Line track.
