Posted on July 24, 2018

The MBTA announced today that its "Heart to Hub" Worcester Line Commuter Rail service, which typically operates one morning nonstop train from Worcester into Boston and one evening nonstop train from Boston to Worcester, will be extended to include a stop at Framingham Station on weekdays from July 30 through August 10.

This extension comes in response to anticipated additional Commuter Rail ridership during the construction period for MassDOT’s Commonwealth Avenue Bridge Replacement project.

Weekdays July 30 – August 10

  • Worcester Line Train 552 that departs Worcester Station at 8 AM will stop at Framingham Station at 8:32 AM
  • Worcester Line Train 551 that departs South Station at 7:35 PM will stop at Framingham Station at 8:08 PM

Parking

Commuters are encouraged to utilize free parking at the Framingham State College parking lot where the MetroWest Regional Transit Authority will provide free shuttle bus service to and from Framingham State College to connect with the morning Framingham stop at 8:32 AM as well as to all PM peak train times.

Weekend Bus Shuttles

Customers are also reminded of weekend Positive Train Control work on the Framingham/Worcester Line with free weekend shuttle bus service replacing train service between Framingham and Wellesley Farms, which then connects to Riverside on the Green Line's D branch. This shuttle service will continue during the Commonwealth Avenue Bridge Replacement construction period during the weekends of July 28 – 29 and August 4 – 5.

Full shuttle bus schedules, including express buses between Framingham and Riverside, are available at mbta.com/worcester
