Public Meeting on Back Bay Station Ventilation Project
Posted on April 11, 2017
BOSTON - The MBTA will present design updates on the Back Bay Station Ventilation Project on May 3 in Boston.
The project team will present the 60-percent design of the Back Bay Station Stair 5 & 6 Pressurization, which is part of the overall project. The first component of the project includes pressurization of these stairs that lead to Tracks 1, 2, and 3 in order to provide an aerodynamic separation between the platform and the concourse levels. This allows for immediate relief by preventing fumes that emanate from the platform level from entering into the concourse level.
