Marathon Monday Pass for Commuter Rail
Enjoy unlimited travel on the Commuter Rail for just $15 on April 15, Marathon Monday. Passes are valid on all lines and zones.
To get your Marathon Pass:
- Buy on the mTicket app, available from the App Store for iOS and Google Play for Android
- Stop by a ticket window at North Station, South Station, or Back Bay Station
- Buy from a conductor on board the train April 15, the day of the marathon, with cash or credit
Passes are not valid on subway, bus, or ferry. Passes are not available at fare vending machines or retail sales locations.
Many stops along the Framingham/Worcester Line are less than a half-mile from the course.
As always, children 11 and younger ride for free when accompanied by a paying adult (up to 2 children per adult).
How to Use Your Marathon Pass
Yes. The pass is already available on the mTicket app and from ticket offices at North, South, and Back Bay stations.
It will also be available aboard trains with cash or credit card on Monday, April 15, only.
Marathon Pass will not be valid for travel until the morning of Monday, April 15. And while you can buy mTicket passes in advance, they cannot be activated until Monday morning.
Passes remain valid until the end of service Monday.
Once you activate an mTicket, it can be reactivated for every Commuter Rail trip you take on Monday, April 15.
While the $15 Marathon Pass provides unlimited service on all routes and in all zones, you can still buy regular Commuter Rail tickets at all fare vending machines, in the mTicket app, or from agents at North, South and Back Bay stations.
Please note that regular tickets will be valid only within the zones they are purchased for, and they do not provide unlimited travel for the day.
The Marathon Pass is not valid on subway, bus, or ferry.
