Reminder: East Boston Ferry Service Resumes on March 27

Posted on March 27, 2023

The MBTA today reminded riders that the East Boston ferry service project resumed for the spring season effective today, March 27. East Boston ferry service schedules are available online with all ferry service schedules available at mbta.com/ferry

The East Boston ferry service project operates between East Boston at Lewis Mall and the downtown Boston area at Long Wharf. A one-way fare on the East Boston ferry is $2.40 (or $1.10 for Reduced Fare riders), which is the same as taking the subway. Tickets can be purchased on the mTicket app. Printed LinkPasses, Commuter Rail Zone passes, and M7s are also accepted.

CharlieCards will also temporarily be accepted effective today on the East Boston ferry for Blue Line riders seeking an alternate transit mode while speed restrictions remain in place on the line. Riders can simply show their CharlieCard to ferry personnel to board this service.

East Boston ferry service is funded through the Commonwealth.
