Monthly Invoice

The monthly invoice payment method is MBTA’s worry-free parking payment feature for unattended parking lots. If you are not a regular commuter or would prefer not to sign up for PayByPhone, an invoice notice will be mailed to the vehicle’s registered owner for every day the vehicle is found unpaid in the parking lot at the end of each month. The invoice will include a $.50 surcharge per day in addition to the parking fee. Commuters have thirty (30) calendar days from the invoice date to pay each month’s invoice without incurring additional fees and penalties. Payments can be made online, by phone, or via mail.

Invoice Payment Procedure:

Notice: Failure to pay each notice in full or appeal within thirty (30) days will result in a $10 penalty per invoice number (per unpaid date). Failure to pay within sixty (60) days from the notice date will result in the non-renewal of your vehicle’s registration and additional RMV fees will apply. The MBTA may also refer unpaid bills to a collection/credit agency for payment and or tow/immobilize the vehicle at the owner’s expense.

Commuters will be notified of a decision within thirty (30) days of the appeal via mail/e-mail. A hearing may be requested after an appeal is closed.
