System-Wide Accessibility′s Reduced Fare CharlieCard Office (for Seniors and Persons with Disabilities)
This office provides the following services for eligible customers with disabilities and senior citizens. (Click here to learn more about the different types of Reduced Fare CharlieCards available as well as eligibility requirements.)
- Issuance of Transportation Access Pass (TAP) CharlieCards to eligible persons with disabilities.
- Issuance of MBTA Blind Access CharlieCards to MA Commission for the Blind card holders.
- Issuance of Senior CharlieCards to persons 65+.
- Add value to a customers RIDE account (at the Back Bay office only)
Location:
The Reduced Fare CharlieCard Office operates out of two locations. The primary office can be found in Back Bay station, and a small satellite office is located in the Downtown Crossing Concourse.
Directions to Back Bay Office
By Subway:
You can get to the Back Bay easily on the Orange Line. Simply exit the train at Back Bay Station and take the stairs, escalator, or elevator to the lobby. The Reduced Fare CharlieCard Office is to the right of the AMTRAK ticket windows.
By Commuter Rail:
Four Commuter Rail lines stop at Back Bay Station: Framingham/Worcester, Needham, Attleboro/Stoughton and Franklin/Forge Park. Take the stairs, escalator, or elevator to the lobby and look for the office to the right of the AMTRAK ticket window.
By Green Line:
Take the Green Line to Copley Station (Copley Station, currently is not wheelchair accessible). Walk up Dartmouth Street to the Back Bay T Station. The office is to the right of the AMTRAK ticket sales window.
Directions to Downtown Crossing Office
The Senior CharlieCard Center is located on the Downtown Crossing (Summer Street) Concourse, the corridor between the Orange Line North Bound platform and the Red Line fare lobby. It is at the end of the corridor near the MBTA ticket windows and the shoe repair shop.

Office Hours:
Both the Back Bay and Downtown Crossing offices are open Monday through Friday, 8:30AM to 5:00PM. The offices are closed weekends and holidays.
THE RIDE Account Deposits
Registered users of THE RIDE can add value to their accounts via cash, check, money order or credit/debit cards at the Back Bay Reduced Fare CharlieCard Office.

Senior/TAP CharlieCard Outreach Services
