Changes to Bus Routes 501/502/503/504

Effective September 1, 2019

How This Route is Changing

Routes 502 and 504 will no longer stop in Newton Corner on outbound trips during PM peak service (trips departing between 3:25 PM and 7:06 PM). Service will not change at other times of day.

Routes 501 and 503 will stop at Newton Corner, at both Washington St and Centre Ave, during all afternoon trips.

What You Can Expect

If you...

  • Travel outbound (west from Boston) between 3:25 PM and 7:06 PM, and your stop is Washington St @ Bacon St or 400 Centre St, take the 501 or 503.
  • Travel outbound to Watertown between 3:25 PM – 7:06 PM, expect faster trips on the 502 and 504.
  • Travel outbound to Brighton in the afternoon and evening, expect service similar to today.

Why We're Making This Change

By shortening the 502/504 routes, we're able to provide faster service for riders traveling to Watertown during the evening rush commute.
