Winchester Center Commuter Rail Station Repair Plans and Future Improvements

Winchester Center Station is located in the Town of Winchester, MA and is approximately 50 to 60 years old. The station platforms, four ramps, walkways, and roof structures are in a state of deteriorating condition due to age and water leakage. An early action repair contract has been completed on the Station.
Jacobs Engineering Group was hired to develop a 15% Preliminary Design for the overall Winchester Center Station Renovation Project. This report was finalized in December 2011. The MBTA has advertised to accept Letters of Intent to advance design from 15% through Final Design for the Project. Selection of a Design Consultant to advance the project will be complete in the Summer of 2012 with a notice to proceed Fall 2012.
