Brookline Village Station and Longwood Station

Light Rail Accessibility Program, D-Line

The project scope consists of station improvements and making the stations' platforms handicapped accessible for low floor trains. The work specifically consists of phased demolition, construction, reconstruction and relocation for phased site work, landscaping, platforms, tactile platform edging, track crossings, curb, sidewalk, fencing, utilities, ductwork, manholes, lighting systems, ramps, removing and resetting passenger shelters, site furnishings, and station signage.


Construction started on July 23, 2007. Construction work at Brookline Village and Longwood stations is 90% complete. The construction work on both stations will be completed by December 30, 2008.
