HINGHAM – Early this fall, commuters and other Hingham ferry riders will come and go from a brand-new, $6.4 million terminal.

The MBTA’s “Hingham Intermodal Center” at Hewitt’s Cove off Route 3A has been under construction since 2013, and T spokesman Joe Pesaturo said Thursday the two-story facility will be ready “just about a month from now.”

He said no date has been set for the first day of business, or for a dedication ceremony.

The terminal is located next to a metal building that currently houses the office and ticket counter for Boston Harbor Cruises, which runs the weekday commuter ferry between Hingham and Rowe’s Wharf in in Boston.
