Worcester/Framingham

CSX, the freight company that controls all movement of trains on the Worcester/Framingham line, has reported that increased freight traffic is expected between Worcester and Boston as the result of re-opening the line after a 36-hour shutdown. This situation will create potential for service delays of up to 30 minutes.

Fitchburg

Continued power outages on the Fitchburg line will affect service on the line. An eight-mile segment of track between Ayer and Fitchburg is under a 20-mile-per-hour speed restriction due to signal failures linked to the power outage and fallen signal wires. This situation will create potential for service delays of up to 40 minutes.

The Haverhill line will be impacted a signal failure in due to a downed wire in Haverhill. This situation will create potential for service delays of up to 30 minutes.

MBCR crews expect that repairs on all lines will be completed by evening peak service.
